Between them, our culinary team brings many years of experience to the Currant Shed kitchen. With varied experience across many regions, they have the remarkable ability to translate the flavours of the land directly onto the plate using some of the Fleurieu, and South Australia's best produce, sourced from a raft of local suppliers. From handmade smoked ricotta gnocci and heirloom carrots, to locally caught Barramundi with freshly picked greens crafted from ingredients grown in the restaurant’s own vegetable garden, they painstakingly create seasonally changing menus that are eclectic and edgy.
What an absolutely fantastic venue! One of our group had heard a great review, but the experience blew any expectations out of the water.
Right from making the booking when we were asked about dietary needs (one of the group had some) through to the warm reception on arrival, we were very impressed. The day only got better.
The wine selection was broad enough to cater to the group, but the food, oh the food! Making my mouth water again thinking about it.
The entree was delicious (how you get pork that sticky defies belief), and the main was to die for. Dessert scored a consistent hat trick (and the cheeky post dessert tidbit was gorgeous).
Word of warning: you will want more bread. You will, just accept it. Don't. Do. It.
You will need the room for the VERY generous serves. The staff were very nice to roll us to our car... thanks for that.
Do your tastebuds a favour and get to the 'Shed.
